Donald is a Principal focused on meeting the tax and business valuation needs of Denver area companies.
Donald specializes in income & estate tax planning, compliance and structuring issues for real estate companies, developers, operators, oil & gas companies and franchisees. Donald also has extensive experience with business valuations including the preparation of valuations in cases for estates, gifts, business combinations, ESOP’s and bankruptcy cases.
Prior to Hanson & Co., Donald held multiple leadership positions in private industry and in public accounting. He served as Chief Financial Officer and Director at MusclePharm, Chief Financial Officer at VCG Holding Company, Managing Director at American Express Tax & Business Services and Partner at Parnell Kerr Forster International. It’s this diverse tapestry of experience which allows him to deliver the bottom-line value to Denver area companies across industries.
Donald earned a Master of Arts in Taxation from Western State University of Colorado and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting & Business from Western State University of Colorado. He is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ACIPA), Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants, Institute of Business Appraisers and the American Society of Appraisers. Donald is also involved in various community organizations in the Denver area.
